US Grade 5
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class, scholars will study 5th grade math skills while reviewing 4th grade skills. My teaching style is friendly and interactive. We start with a math game to warm-up our brains and get more comfortable with each other. As we work through each skill, I encourage questions and help students feel safe to make mistakes as we grow together in knowledge and ability. I will model a skill, guide my students to practice that skill with me, and then check for understanding by having students work independently. Each student answer privately directly to the teacher. This allows me to see how well each is understanding in a private way that helps scholars to feel safe to make mistakes and try. The ongoing class allows you to select specific skills that your child needs to practice or join every week to practice a full 5th grade range of math skills.
