Welcome to our Portuguese language course! In this class, you will learn important concepts such as the days of the week, months of the year, how to read and write the date, numbers, colors, shapes, counting, number order, letter names and sounds, and rhyming. You will have daily practice to improve your Portuguese skills.

During the course, the teacher will be using slides to ensure that students can clearly see the information. The teacher will also be using their hands, facial expressions, voice intonation, and body movements to both engage and help students learn and understand what is being taught. Moreover, we will use chanting, rhyming, singing, and a lot of call and response activities to make learning fun and interactive. You will constantly interact with your classmates and teacher throughout the lesson.

*This class is designed and most appropriate for NON-NATIVE speakers of Portuguese but all students are welcome to join.  

*Students should have some familiarity with the letters of the Portuguese alphabet. 

During these 8 weeks, the literacy focus will be on word reading and verbs.

At the end of our eight weeks of lessons, we will cycle back to the beginning. Students are welcome to join and leave at any time, as there is no previous information needed in order to succeed in the current week’s lesson.
