The students will develop coordination, rhythm, confidence, and musicality as they learn some of the basic rhythms and songs of Brazilian Capoeira. They will also develop an appreciation for other cultures as they learn some of the history behind the art form.

I love capoeira! I have been training capoeira for almost 15 years, and it is truly my passion. My current rank is Graduado, and I practice frequently in groups and on my own. I am offering this course because I feel that capoeira develops many different areas at the same time. It has helped me to grow in strength, flexibility, confidence, musicality, language skills, communication, and culture. I believe that it will do the same for anyone else who train seriously. This class will provide a valuable introduction to the music and history as well as encourage children to develop an affinity for cultural music. It will show them that music can be fun, and it will help them grow into well-rounded individuals.
