Welcome to our Book Study on A Midsummer Night’s Dream!!

This play is a fun story about love, magic, and the importance of following your heart!

Shakespeare's works are considered some of the greatest achievements in English literature. His plays and sonnets explore universal themes such as love, power, jealousy, betrayal, and the human condition, making them timeless. Shakespeare had a profound impact on the English language, coining phrases and words that are still in use today. Studying his works helps students appreciate the richness and flexibility of the language, enhancing their vocabulary and expressive abilities. Each week we will learn many vocabulary words that come straight from Shakespeare’s pen and learn how to utilise them in our day-to-day speech.

We will also study each of the many literary devices that Shakespeare uses and why they are important for not only Shakespeare literature, but every book, play, and movie!

This 5 week long course is 100% online, taken asynchronously with no specific “live” sessions, or meeting time requirements. It will prepare students for university, and help them become independent learners! Asynchronous courses are great for students who prefer a flexible schedule!
