The Hardy Boys book series was written by ghostwriters under the pen name Franklin W. Dixon. In this book club, we will be discussing a new book each week. Books will be read ahead of time, before class. The books are also available as audiobooks! All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, playing games, and learning trivia related to the book. This class is designed to be fully interactive and students are expected to be fully engaged. If interacting with teacher and peers is uncomfortable for your student, this class is not a good fit for them. One of my core values is to teach children to think critically, and to apply that to everything they read. Racism or racial stereotypes are never acceptable to me, even in a fictional world.

Students will need a copy of the books The Hardy Boys, written by Franklin Dixon. Please ensure books are copies released after 1959, as hothouse have been revised to eliminate racism. The book of the week must be read or listened to BEFORE class. Students can use their own books, library books, ebooks, or even listen to the audio books. If listening to the audiobooks, it is highly recommended that student reads independently to develop their own reading comprehension and competency.
