No prior experience required. This is a beginner-friendly session! All levels welcome! This is a LIVE online class. I come from Tamilnadu, a South Indian state and would love to share the rich culture of 2 South Indian states that also influence Bollywood Dance! We will visit Kerala & Tamilnadu, learn the influence of dance forms from these regions on Bollywood Dance in a beginner-friendly way. We will explore the region including geographical location, outfits, food, festivals and combine the concepts with a joyful dance based on upbeat Bollywood music! The class will be dance focused with breaks in between to learn the cultural component of the day. Sample schedule: Week #1 - Tamilnadu Week #2 - Kerala Week #3 - Recap and final dance routine practice My approach to teaching is very interactive. I break down steps in a way that is easy for learners to relate to things they see & activities they do everyday. I also provide cultural context to the moves to make learning more meaningful.

Please ensure dancers have enough space to freely move. Ideally, I should to be able to see hands & feet so I can ensure proper execution of dance moves. Keep water bottle. Pen & Paper. We will be dancing barefoot.

1. Comfortable clothing - T-shirt and pants/leggings work best! No shoes required. We will be dancing barefoot. 2. Water bottle 3. Pen/Sharpie + Paper 3. If any props or supplies are required, I will send a note prior to each class - simple things like crayons/color pencils.

I'm a passionate & enthusiastic teacher with a unique approach to teaching Bollywood Dance to kids of various ages & diverse learner needs. I strive to help children explore the world through the joy of creative movement by developing age appropriate, high quality, theme-based content presenting Bollywood dance in a cultural context.
I was born & raised in a small town in Rajasthan, India and started dancing when I was 3! I speak English, Hindi, and Tamil. I am trained in an Indian classical dance form "Bharatanatyam" and I'm excited to bring my authentic knowledge on the various genres of Bollywood Dance & Indian Culture to learners on Outschool! I have several years of experience teaching kids from ages 3 and up!
My professional experience includes running a dance + culture kids program in after-school programs + dance studios, performing & Interacting with multicultural audiences all over Chicago.レビュー
