In this one meeting course, students will learn about two true bizarre stories: "Lost in the Arctic” and “The Mystery of the Mary Celeste”. “Lost in the Arctic” is about a Northwest Passage journey and “The Mystery of the Mary Celeste” is about one of the greatest sea mysteries. 

Students will listen to each story, participate in discussions, and complete comprehension tasks in the form of online games. These games touch on finding the main idea, recalling facts, making inferences, using words precisely, author's approach, and critical thinking. Students will have fun with the games that they will not even realize they are learning! At the end of class, students will be sent off with inquiry tasks to research the bizarre stories through readings, videos, and activities.
