In this one time live class, students will learn the characteristics of birds. This class will be teacher led with the use of pictures and slides and a game. We will discuss common birds that students live with and see in their everyday lives. Students will learn about interesting birds from each of the seven continents and the habitats. Lastly, students will have the opportunity to share with the class what their favorite bird is and why. Students will build on their knowledge of birds and habitats and also practice their speaking skills while speaking to the class.

I am Mrs V, as my classroom students call me. I teach phonics, grammar, science, math, and music classes. I am licensed to teach kindergarten through 6th grade. I also have a minor in music. I taught preschool for 6 years and I did student teaching in kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grades. I have worked part time in the public school system for the last 5 years. I homeschool my two youngest children and enjoy finding fun new ways to teach things. I also teach ESL classes online. I believe that including the student's interests into the lesson engages the learning and makes learning fun and more easily attainable. Fun, hands on activities and games provide an engaging learning environment. My hobbies are animals (I live on a small farm), music (I minored in music), reading and crocheting.
