I have combined my In the Forest, In the Desert, and Ocean Creatures classes to create a fun, longer exploration on who lives in a specific biome. 
This is a live class so we can all meet and have fun interacting. 
Each week the teacher will share:
1. An interactive lesson presented by the teacher
2. A teacher led step by step fine motor skills craft that coordinates with the weekly lesson. We work on these together and students can share their craft as we go along if they would like to. 
3. After class activities that students can complete on their own including:
a) A really fun, interactive Nearpod Lesson that includes a Draw It section, memory matching, and more!
b) Printable Activity Sheets
c) An end of week Kahoot Quiz 
d) End of week notes to help students remember what they learned. 


The class schedule is as follows:

Week One: What is a Desert?
*Are deserts always hot?
*What lives in a desert?
*Are there different types of deserts?
*What is a sand and dust storm?
*Much more!
Students will learn about deserts via an interactive lesson presented by the teacher and a fine motor skills desert craft. 
There will be optional (but really fun!) after class activities including an interactive Nearpod lesson, printable activity sheets, a Kahoot quiz and class notes to help students retain their new desert knowledge. 

Week Two: Camel
*There are 2 types of camels, what's the difference?
*Where do they live?
*What do they eat; are they herbivores?
*What is so unique about their feet and how do they help people?
*Much more!
Students will learn about camels via an interactive lesson presented by the teacher and a fine motor skills desert craft. 
There will be optional (but really fun!) after class activities including an interactive Nearpod lesson, printable activity sheets, a Kahoot quiz and class notes to help students retain their new camel knowledge. 

Week Three: Desert Kingsnake
*Are they poisonous?
*What is the surprising thing that they eat?
*They are nocturnal, what does that mean?

Students will learn about deserts via an interactive lesson presented by the teacher and a fine motor skills desert kingsnake craft. 
There will be optional (but really fun!) after class activities including an interactive Nearpod lesson, printable activity sheets, a Kahoot quiz and class notes to help students retain their new desert kingsnake knowledge. 

Week Four: Giant Hairy Scorpion
*Are they poisonous?
*Why are their hairs so special?
*What do they use their stingers for?

Week Five: Saguaro Cactus

Week Six: White Tailed Deer

Week Thirteen: Beluga Whale

Students may need assistance with various aspects of the crafts. Students will be using scissors and may need adult assistance. Nearpod lessons (optional after class activity) students do not need an account, an access link is provided in the classroom Kahoot (optional after class activity and sometimes we can take the quiz together in class if time allows) Students do not need an account, a link will be provided in the classroom. Teacher will share short clips from YouTube during class to enhance learning during the lesson.

Week One students will need the following craft materials:
1. Printable from the classroom
2. small handful of sand or something that looks like sand (brown sugar, dry dirt, etc)
3. glue
4. crayons, markers or colored pencils
5. One sheet of Light blue construction paper, or child can color in white paper all blue
6. One sheet of Yellow construction paper, or child can color in white paper all yellow 
7. One cotton ball
8. Crayons of the following colors: green, red, yellow

Week Two students will need:
1. 2 empty toilet paper rolls
2. printable from classroom
3. brown paint
4. paintbrush
5. black magic marker
6. brown crayon
7. 5 pieces of white, black or brown yarn, ribbon or string cut into 3 inch piece
8. Glue
9. Scissors

Week Three students will need:
1. One large white paper plate
2. Printable from classroom
3. Black and white paint
4. Paintbrush
5. Red crayon

Week Four Students will need:
1. empty egg carton (we will use 3 egg holding sections kept together)
2. Glue
3. Paint, brown and orange 
4. Paint brushes
5. printables from classroom
6. Scissors

Week Five Students will need:
1. Red tissue paper, or regular red paper if you do not have tissue paper, one sheet
2. Printable from classroom
3. Piece of construction paper or any colored paper of choice to glue printable onto
4. glue
5. handful of rice
6. Green paint

8. Scissors

Week Six:
1. Two paper plates
2. Two sheets of brown paper

Week Seven:
