Students will be assigned songs to practice at home. Practice is cumulative. Practicing for shorter time spans, more frequently, will allow students to build upon what they have learned. Ideally, 10-15 minutes a day works well. However, I know schedules get very busy. Only you will know what works best for your family!テスト
Each student will be given opportunities to play individually for the teacher. This will allow me to give individual feedback and check for proper understanding.この文章は自動翻訳されています

Welcome to Beginning Recorder 3! I am excited at the prospect of teaching your young musician! In this course, we will continue learning the basics of playing the recorder, along with adding some new techniques (playing in different dynamics, tempos and slurring our notes). We will continue focusing on proper posture, fingering positions, note names and values. We will also play a variety of games and exercises to help with learning notes names, practicing rhythms and learning proper fingering and techniques. For this course, you will need the Pearson & Barden "Recorder Excellence" book (student edition) and a soprano recorder. The prerequisite for this course is Beginning Recorder 2 or an equivalent course with knowledge of how to read and play the notes B, A, G, C, D and F# on the recorder. This is a learner led course. During each session, your child can expect to review previous concepts, play the assigned pieces, receive feedback and possibly play a game (if time allows) to strengthen the understanding of the concepts being taught. In addition to the group playing along with the teacher, each student will have the opportunity to play individually for the class. This allows me to give individual feedback and check for understanding. Topics* *Subject to change based on students' progress and understanding of the material being taught. Week 1: Review notes B, A, G, C, D F #, note values and basics of instrument (posture, embouchure, care of instrument) Introduce dynamics, tempo Songs - Paw Paw Patch, Ronde, Some Folks Do Week 2: Review - continue mastering tempo and dynamics on last week's songs If students are ready, we will introduce E and 1st and 2nd endings Songs - Yangtze Boat Chantey, Rain Rain, The Little Fish Week 3: Review Introduce key signature, continue working on tempo and dynamics of previous songs Songs - The Horse's Branle, Theme from Symphony No. 4 Week 4: We will use this class to practice previous songs and to ensure understanding of material. Hi, my name is Laura Key. Throughout my life, I have had a passion for music! Many of my earliest memories involve singing in the station wagon, listening to classical music on my Care Bear radio, dancing while my mom played Ta Ra Ra Boom De Ay on our organ and playing the same songs over and over... to the point of my dad joking that he would send me to the circus! Music plays an integral part of our lives! It affects our moods, brings back memories and is the sound track for our special and even small moments!
In May of 2000, I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music from Maryville University. I formerly taught music for grades K-8. As a music teacher, I proudly brought recorders to the stage at our annual Christmas concerts and also introduced the school to swing dancing, line dancing and square dancing! I am currently returning to the work world after staying at home with my three beautiful children. This transition has led me to teaching private piano lessons for the last two years out of my home... and thanks to COVID, now through ZOOM! I'm learning as I go, but I have never been afraid to take on a new challenge!
As far as my teaching, I have actually learned a great deal by being a stay-at-home mom. My children are twice gifted (gifted and ADHD), which has truly helped me to realize that each child is unique and learns at their own pace. Some children may need more help, a slower pace or a faster pace. That is ok. I tailor each lesson directly to what your student needs; not a one-size-fits-all approach.
As for my other interests, I love sharing my passions with my kids and husband! We are a scouting family (I am a girl scout troop leader). We love to go camping, hiking, star gazing and traveling. I also love catching little critters in our backyard with my kids! I'm into photography, swing dancing, gardening and cooking. Basically, if it involves music, nature or some other form of art....and of course, family time, I'm in!
I hope to have the opportunity to share my passions with you and bring music to life for your family! Please look for my beginning and intermediate piano lessons, as well as my beginning recorder classes.
