Whether you’re looking to impress your friends, play just for fun, or become a world-class ukulele player, you have to start with the basics. Luckily for you, I can help you get started on your ukulele playing journey! By the end of this 5 lesson ukulele course students 14-18 will know the 4 introductory chords (C, Am, G, and F), some strumming patterns, and a handful of awesome songs varying from nursery rhymes to pop music! Students will receive a digital workbook and ukulele flip book that they can print out and use during each class. I will be using a variety of teaching methods during each lesson. I will start with step by step lessons and examples on google slides, where I will demonstrate concepts and provide practice time as a class. This will then lead into YouTube video play alongs and break out rooms for individual practice time where I will visit each breakout room to check student progress and answer any questions. Please refer to the syllabus for a more detailed breakdown of each lesson.

- Students will review chords C and Am

- Students will need a soprano ukulele. Costs range from $40 to $70. - Students will also need a tuner (or access to a tuner app). Costs range from free (through an app) to $10.

I have been teaching music for 14 years. I have a Bachelors and Masters degree in Music. I have taught all age groups from age 2 to adult. I have experience directing choirs of ages 6 to adult, early childhood music - ages 2-4, general music ages 2-11, vocal camps ages 11 to 16, and providing private music instruction on ukulele, guitar, piano, and voice ages 4 to adult.
