Let's continue our language learning in Beginner Japanese 2! Students will meet once a week, and by the end of the ten weeks, students will learn countries, nationalities, and jobs. They will be able to say where they are from, introduce other people, and much more! Students learned the hiragana system in Beginner Japanese 1 and now they will be exposed to the Japanese katakana system. They will see the vocabulary in English and Japanese script and romaji (using Roman letters to write Japanese words). Furthermore, they will learn phonetic pronunciation. In Japanese 2, students will learn to read the katakana characters from the katakana chart up until the 5th row. There are ten rows in the katakana chart, and we will do the first five. Students will also practice writing the katakana characters. It is vital that students feel welcome and excited about learning. While having fun, we will also practice good classroom etiquette. The class will be interactive, and students will get a chance to speak with one another and do so in an orderly fashion. Let's get ready to learn and have fun!
