This class is perfect for ballet dancers ready to dive into the world of ballet and build on the knowledge they already have. In this class we will have daily barre exercises (can be done using a chair), work on ballet terminology, and build on the technique they already have from previous experience. We will learn about proper ballet body alignment and position, keys to presenting yourself when performing, and work on core strength.

Examples of some of the things we will be learning:
{Ballet feet positions (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th) & Ballet arm positions (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th)}
Ballet barre ettiequte, Plies,Tendus, Sautes, Balances, Chasses, Chaines, Pas de Bourrees, Grande Battemants, Jetes, Temps Leves...
The list goes on and on! 

This is an ongoing class, but not to worry.. your dancer will be able to jump right in whenever they join!

保護者へのお知らせ

Be sure your dancer has plenty of open space to dance in. If they are working on hard floor, please have them barefoot or in proper ballet shoes. NO socks or tights as they could slip! Proper ballet attire is encouraged, but if you don't already own some do not feel obligated to buy any! Fitted athletic clothing will work just fine. Hair pulled back and out of face is preferred. Remember to always hydrate when participating in high energy activities!

Hi there! My name is Shelby and I have a passion for teaching. 

I have a background in dance, beginning my training at age two, and most recently spent four years running a dance program on an Army base in Germany. I was able to teach ballet, tap, and jazz to students ages 2.5-18. There we had daily classes year round, all cultivating in a big end of year production the teachers would create and choreograph ourselves! 

I also hold degrees in Elementary and Special Education and have just finished working as a 3rd grade teacher. I am stepping out of the classroom (temporarily!) while our family transitions out of the Army and moves across the country.

 Although my degree will be coming later in life than some, the path I chose has allowed me to follow some of my other passions~ becoming a dance teacher and running my own classes for four years, as well as start my family!

I am an Army Brat, turned Army Spouse, and mommy to two sweet little boys (and a puppy mom to two large boys as well!). Children and teaching have always been a love of mine for as long as I can remember, and I cannot wait to share my passions and help grow the minds of your learners!
