 This class is suitable for students ages 9 - 13  who wish to learn how to write easily and effectively with the goal to becoming  highly competent and impressive writers acheiving high scores in all subject areas.  Below are some examples of how your sentences will improve over time. So a sentence like:

The squirrels in my yard always chase the birds   
will become:
The FURRY, GREY squirrels in my yard always chase the SUMMER birds. (Using strong adjectives)

I love cooling down by eating ice-cream in the summer
will become:
EATING ice-cream in the summer helps me stay cool. (-ING- sentence starter)


Learners will learn using a step by step approach and immediately have the opportunity to practice their newly acquired skill.
You are welcome to join at any point for just one week or for the whole five week program
Parents will have an outline of the skill taught at the end of each lesson so as to encourage their child to use said skills in their various school assignments/homework.
I will work off google slides, which all learners will have access to for due reference.
Learners will be able to ask questions during class and can email me  Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00.


===COURSE OUTLINE===

1. BANNED WORDS 

Students will improve their writing instantly by eliminating banned words and replacing them with strong VERBS, ADJECTIVES and NOUNS.

***A reference list of Banned words will be made available.

2. DROPPING VERY + ADDING STRONG NOUNS 

Students will learn the difference between using the word VERY as compared to using a STRONG NOUN. So instead of 
He was VERY HAPPY we will say:

He was DELIGHTED or
He was ELATED.
***A comprehensive reference list of  strong nouns will be made available.

3. Blasting Ahead With ADJECTIVES  

Students will learn the power of adjectives to boost sentence clarity. For example,
I always enjoy a walk around the lake
I always enjoy a brisk walk around the clear, blue lake.

***A  comprehensive reference list of adjectives will be made available.

4. Starting sentences with  LY words  

Students will learn how to vary the way they start sentences to improve their writing style. For example:

I got an A+ on my math test.
SURPRISINGLY, I got an A+ on my last test.

***A comprehensive list of LY words will be made available.

5. Starting sentences with PREPOSITIONAL words  

Students will learn how to vary the way they start sentences to improve their writing style. For example:

The school bus had left by the time I got to the bus stop.
ON getting to the bus stop the school bus had left.
