このクラスで学べること

Students will learn basic measurements in baking as well as how to prepare items for baking such as making pie crusts, using cookie cutters, and rolling out homemade dough. Students will need to be supervised by an adult because they will need to be using an oven. They will need to have access to a rolling pin, some form of cookie cutters which could be something simple like a mason jar and a basic muffin pan or cake pan, and cookie sheet.

Students will be provided with take home recipes and will have an opportunity to share their results with the class. In the four weeks of class, I would like to start with the basics such as homemade biscuits. The next week I would like to move on to homemade cookies, then following up with homemade cakes and frosting. And for the last week, my is to move on to pies or possibly a specialty dessert such as cupcakes, cinnamon rolls with icing, or brownies since they are a crowd favorite.

教師の専門知識と資格
I have been working as a private tutor for grades 5-12 in Science and English since 1999. I also worked as student mentor to post doctoral and summer student fellows for over ten years while I worked as a Research Chemist in marine & geochemistry at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. During my work there, I had the opportunity to become an author in a text book on high resolution mass spectometry and as well as being part of a documentary on the Discovery Channel. Previous to my work at Woods Hole, I worked as a chemical technician in a local environmental lab working on land and water pollution. During the summer, I also was blessed with the most incredible opportunity of working as a naturalist on a whale watch boat. Following my time working in research, I owned and operated a childcare for over 7 years where I taught preschool and tutored grade school children in the afternoon. I earned my B.S. in Cellular/Molecular Biology with a minor in Biochemistry from Bridgewater State University in 2000 and a M.S. in Education in 2015 from Walden University. Currently I am working on my M.S. in Biology with a specialization in Environmental Sciences from the University of Nebraska, Kearney. I have loved teaching and mentoring students of all ages and am thankful to add online teaching to my experiences in education. I am a huge advocate of online learning since it has not only benefited me, but my children as well.
