In our alphabet class, I believe in creating a nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment where young learners can thrive. That is why I have chosen not to assign homework. Preschoolers benefit most from hands-on, interactive experiences that engage their natural curiosity and creativity. By focusing on in-class activities and play-based learning, we ensure that children have ample time to explore, experiment, and reinforce their understanding of alphabet letters without the pressures of homework. Our goal is to foster a positive association with learning, allowing children to develop a solid foundation in letter recognition and sounds through joyful and meaningful experiences during class time.

Welcome to our exciting fall-themed alphabet class! Join us twice a week for 25 minutes of fun-filled learning as we explore the wonders of autumn while mastering the letters of the Alphabet. In each class, we will immerse ourselves in fall words and topics, fostering a love for language and literacy. From apple picking to leaf identification, each class will provide a unique opportunity to connect the alphabet with fall-related concepts. Together, we will embark on a journey of discovery, where your child will develop essential pre-reading skills and expand their vocabulary, all while experiencing the magic of autumn. Join us as we dive into the ABCs, one fall letter at a time!

Classes are short and designed to be developmentally appropriate in length for 4 - 6 year old learners. Class starts with an unveiling of the letter and fall-themed object of the day. For example, I might show the letter P and a Pumpkin Pie. At this time students will see the letter, learn the letter name and letter sound. Next we will sing a song, learn a rhyme or hear a poem about the fall-themed topic. Next, learners will practice air writing the letter while I model the correct way to write the letter. Class will continue as students brainstorm and look at other words that start with our letter of the day while students practice writing, building or sculpting the letter or objects that begin with the letter of the day. The last part of class is a time for students to share their letter creations.

Learners can sign up for all classes or come and go as needed based on letters than need to be practiced. Class will center around a google slides presentation with colorful illustrations. I am a fun and flexible teacher who genuinely wants all students to thrive. Learners do not have to have any knowledge of the alphabet to take this class.
