In this class, students will learn the ins and outs of DNA. We will also discuss RNA and the main differences between the two. Students will watch a short video outlining the basics of DNA. Then, we will work together to finish a worksheet that will provide a more in-depth look at DNA. And finally, students will work with the teacher to create a 3D model of a DNA strand. Students will understand the relationship between DNA, RNA, and genes. Students will also be able to to define genetics.
Worksheets will be uploaded into the classroom for families to print and bring to class. Items needed for the DNA model include: Straws Tape Clay (this can be replaced with anything that is lightweight and round) Paint (optional)
