No specific homework is assigned, but students are encouraged to finish pages we start in class and explore other options and media.テスト
Throughout the class, I will have artists share their pages with me to see their progress and ask questions as they arise to ensure they are comfortable with the media, the process, and their progress. We will engage in respectful and relaxed conversation as we work to discuss the goals for their book and brainstorm ideas to get them there.この文章は自動翻訳されています

Think sketchbook + art projects + journal = art journal! These are also known as altered books or visual journals. These books become collections of visual expressions, techniques, and self-reflection. Artists will combine different media and subjects and create thematic journeys of their own time and place. Each week we will focus on a different theme and particular medium, and complete a page together. Our studio time is meant to provide inspiration for artists to start a new project/idea and to continue their art journaling experience by capturing important moments, words, and expressions in their own book. Instruction and guidance will be provided throughout and specifics of each week’s theme and supplies will be posted into the classroom a few days before. Artists need to watch the pre-class video prior to attending in order to prep (at least a portion of) their book. We will not do prep work during the art studio time, but rather focus on various techniques and how to use different media. We always touch on how the art elements and design principles are incorporated into our work. Artists will follow step-by-step demonstrations as needed and will be given clear information as a foundation for incorporating the weekly theme and using the medium, but the final result will be very much up to the individual artist. It is exciting to see how the pages turn out! Each week will rotate a new medium and page theme, such as: Week of : Jan 18: A is for Apple Jan 25: B is for Beach Feb 1: C is for Crystal Feb 8: Currently journaling This class is **ongoing** so we meet each week for something new. Families are charged each Sunday for the following week. You may unenroll if you wish (and reenroll if there is still a spot available). There is no long-term commitment. Themes and projects change every week, but eventually, there may be one that rotates back in.
学習到達目標
My goal is to inspire artists to begin (or continue) their art journaling experience and spark their desire for self-expression with weekly art studio meeting times. This gives them a chance to try different media techniques and build their book with care and thought.

学士号 UCLAから 音楽、演劇、芸術 へ
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA and spent my first 10 years out of college working with professional designers and photographers in the publishing world. I was exposed to an eclectic variety of art media and styles. Later, as a volunteer art teacher, I was introduced to art journals (altered books/visual journals) and fell in love with combining journaling and art together, so I made my own!
I have enjoyed art journaling for many years and have worked on my own journal as a great way to create a distinctive piece of art that also included personal reflections, notations, and adornments.
