In this class, part of a series of classes that follow world art history timeline through a central theme, Learner will travel from ancient times to modern day discovering the many periods and cultures where birds have been an inspiring muse for its beauty or because of their symbol. Learner will develop art and cultural appreciation through the many examples of media and styles, including folk art and poetry. Learner will also see examples of how birds have supported and inspired human lives. The class is structured with an introduction, a rich slide presentation, exchanges, and Q & A. Teaching style is kind and inclusive, emphasizing love for the arts, animals, with captivating learning & discovery. For these reasons and for gauging Learner's interest level and to be able to adjust accordingly, Open mics and video are required so there is a sense of community and engagement with the material. Learners will interact with teacher and each other throughout the class. Class size is kept small to allow for their comments and riveting curiosity. This class, as all other ones in the series, may be taken as a complete group, as in a camp format, or separately. In addition to being kid-friendly, by following the history of art through a unifying theme, pedagogically speaking, it helps the child organize the many artists and styles in a way that is more clear and easier to remember. No previous experience is required.
