M A S H U P S A R T C L A S S !
In this class, we use our imaginations while drawing inspiration from iconic Super Mario characters. This is a unique class where what we draw is completely open-ended, based on our reference of two themes that we blend together creatively. This engaging experience not only sparks creativity but also invites classmates to build friendships over time.

E N D L E S S C R E A T I V I T Y
• Imagine toast meets Mario or fruit meets Toadette – if you can dream it, you can draw it!
• Zero pressure to make anything look like my drawing, or like anyone else's.
• New ideas and variants are encouraged, and different art styles are celebrated!
• Children take the lead, using their imagination to blend the week's theme with Mario characters in their artwork.
• Artists maintain freedom of expression: Instead of directed instructions, kids are encouraged to make their own artistic choices!
N E W T H E M E S W E E K L Y
• Each week introduces a new theme, sparking endless possibilities for creative mashups.
• No matter how long the student stays in the class, there is always a new theme for them to draw! Some students have been taking this class continuously since it started in 2022!
S O C I A L & S H A R I N G
• Weekly meetings kick off with sharing anything from the past week, fostering a sense of community.
• Every meeting ends with more sharing time, with each learner getting a chance to be spotlighted to share their artwork and tell the class about their concept.
• Community-building: Beyond art, this course aims to connect Super Mario fans and art enthusiasts, creating a vibrant community that grows together over time!

Hello, I'm Ms. Jes!
In my classes, kids unleash their inner artist using favorite characters and games that I’m just as passionate about as they are. We explore spontaneous creativity and embracing “mistakes”. Let’s start drawing outside the box!
I am most passionate about teaching art and learning in unique ways. My approach to teaching infuses encouragement and optimism while having fun and connecting with a new generation over shared interests. Every child is special and celebrated for being who they are! No matter the class, I believe in positively approaching learning and finding joy in it.
• Outside of Outschool, I founded a nonprofit youth performing arts academy in 2015.
• I live in the beautiful Midwest of the USA with my husband and two children.
