Let's lay a strong foundation together this summer! My personalized one-on-one tutoring is designed to introduce key concepts and reinforce foundational skills essential for success in Pre-Algebra during the upcoming school year. Throughout the course, I'll cover key topics including Real Numbers, Algebraic Expressions, Equations and Inequalities, Ratios, Proportions, Percents, and more. Each session will focus on gentle and supportive instruction, ensuring learners feel confident as they...
- - Introduction to Pre-Algebra Concepts: Gain a solid understanding of key Pre-Algebra topics including Real Numbers, Algebraic Expressions, Equations and Inequalities, Ratios, Proportions, Percents, and more. - Strengthen Foundational Skills: Reinforce basic math concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and order of operations to ensure readiness for Pre-Algebra. - Confidence in Variables and Equations: Develop confidence in working with variables and solving equations, essential skills for success in Pre-Algebra and beyond. - Problem-Solving Skills: Enhance problem-solving abilities by applying mathematical concepts to solve real-world problems and mathematical equations. - Smooth Transition to Pre-Algebra: Ensure a smooth transition into the Pre-Algebra curriculum by mastering fundamental concepts and building strong problem-solving skills.
I have extensive experience teaching mathematics at various levels, ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus. With a bachelor's degree in mathematics and over 10 years of combined experience as an instructor, tutor, and workshop facilitator, I am well-equipped to help students develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts. I have worked with students in the age group 9 to 18 years old in a one-on-one and small group settings for math tutoring.

Come prepared to ask questions about math topics, whether from school assignments or other topics you'd like more practice on, as well as bring something to write on and something to write with: pen & paper / marker & whiteboard / stylus & tablet / drawing pad for annotating on Zoom. Regarding materials, I let my learners annotate on my screen when we show our math work. So if your learner is good with writing on the computer with a mouse, that should suffice. Some of my learners like having a drawing tablet with a stylus to make annotating easier, but it's not required. Also, for some reason, Zoom won't let my learners annotate if they are on a Chromebook or an iPad. So I would suggest NOT using these devices for our sessions if at all possible.
Please list the topic(s) of choice, if any, upon enrollment or as far in advance as possible. Please also share any specifics about your learner's experience with the listed topic(s). Feel free to do this by either messaging me or posting on the classroom.
