This camp course meets every weekday for two weeks/ten days . This camp requires a bit more "after camp" work than the "Structures" Camp. Students need to be committed to completing projects before the next day and should expect about 1-2 hours of work after class. Over the course of two weeks, students will design their dream city. Students will design a model of each city building type each day. Students will be taught to sketch similar building types. Class Schedule: Greetings Each day...
Students will learn more about the art of designing city building types. Students will learn presentation skills. Students will learn to embrace each other's ideas and goals. Students will learn to work on projects from three directions: models and sketching.
Although this camp is new to Outschool, Mrs. G. (a homeschooling mom since 1997) has taught this course along with many architecture, piano, writing, art, theater and photography courses in the online format since 2009.
Students may use Minecraft or Legos to create their cities. If a student wants to use physical models, they should have : A 3' x 3' base (maybe thin plywood) Any materials they want to build with (poster board, chip board, cardboard, wood) Any extra materials (model trees, grass, color, tin, wire etc..) Students should also have tracing paper (9" x 12" is fine), and/or a sketchbook (any size) glue sticks glue glue stick scissors Basic art supplies
