Being a teen, or pre-teen, can be stressful and cause anxiety. Anxiety is a normal part of development for teens, but often times they struggle with the appropriate coping skills, which leads to giving into peer pressure. Sometimes, these are really difficult to understand and navigate as a young person. Our class will provide tips on how to manage stress and cope within multiple situations. A coping strategy will be taught with each lesson. As the classes progress, the learner will have improved confidence and self-esteem in their ability to handle different situations that are stressful. My teaching style is laid back and casual. I encourage class discussions and questions. While discussions are encouraged, they are not required. This modification allows learners to feel less anxious and comfortable as they learn and acquire new skills. I do this to ensure all learners feel welcomed and comfortable in class. I use slides for students to read along with me while I teach.
