I am a native American Sign Language speaker, born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Growing up with a deaf father and hard-of-hearing mother, I was immersed in deaf culture from a young age. This personal connection to the deaf community has shaped my life and career path. I am thrilled to be teaching ASL to the next generation. In addition to my ASL teaching role, I am a special education teacher and reading interventionist at a high school in Harlem. I teach 11th grade U.S. History and English courses. My passion for education and desire to support diverse learners led me to this dual role. Drawing on my own experiences navigating between the hearing and deaf worlds, I am able to bring a unique perspective to my classrooms. I find great fulfillment in empowering students, whether that's through American Sign Language or core academic subjects.
