✏️Spelling can be tricky for many students because of the numerous rules to navigate. During our tutoring sessions, students will work to master spelling at their own pace. Your child and I will work together to be sure they fully understands each concept before moving onto the next one. We will have fun while we learn!

✏️The program I use, All About Spelling, is based on the Orton-Gillingham method. It takes a multi-sensory, hands-on approach to help your child establish a strong foundation in spelling, gradually building on it to achieve mastery. This approach focuses on understanding the WHY behind spelling rules, rather than relying on rote memorization of weekly word lists. By reinforcing previously learned skills and incorporating regular reviews, this method ensures that your child retains spelling knowledge and confidently applies it in their writing.

✏️During our time together, your child and I will work on a variety of spelling skills including vowels and consonants, blends, phonograms, syllable types, suffixes and more. 

✏️ Students are required to purchase a student packet to be used during our sessions and for weekly practice at home. In addition to the student activity book, we will use flashcards and letter tiles weekly.  At the end of each class, if time allows, we will play spelling games to reinforce the skills we are learning.  Learning is fun!

✏️Your child will feel comfortable in this relaxed, highly engaging class where they will receive gentle, supportive guidance to help them build confidence, master challenging concepts, and reach their full potential. 

✏️This program truly works! Whether your child is starting at Level 1 or progressing through the other levels, All About Spelling is designed to support struggling spellers, particularly those with learning differences or disabilities. It provides the tools and strategies needed to help every child succeed.
