Combining like terms and distributive property. example: 4x + 2 x + 5 - 2c  OR  4(x + 2)

Algebraic word problems + another look at pre-algebra review skills. (These are essential foundational skills and I'd like to make sure students have a good grasp on them.)

Solving equations
Solving multi-step equations. (This combines the skills of distributive property, combining like terms, and solving equations.) example: 5(4 - 3x)=-5j-50

Algebra in graphs
Finding slope of a line (rise over run method.) example: y2-y1 over x2-x1 = slope. We will also learn how to solve when given an equation. y=m
