In this course, students will be given guided practice problems to add and subtract with negative numbers. This should not be the student's first exposure to this mathematical operation. Students will be given immediate feedback, guided error correction, and reteaching as needed during the class. Strategies such as using visual models, and number lines to find answers will be demonstrated as needed. Students should have a basic understanding of integer place value, such as where negative numbers belong on a number line, before attending this class. Please schedule your sessions carefully, as missed sessions will not be rescheduled or refunded.
