WHAT WILL BE TAUGHT? In this self-paced course, students will learn key spelling strategies specifically designed to help them improve their spelling skills for the ACT and SAT. The course will focus on mastering common test words, spelling rules, and vocabulary commonly tested in the Writing and Language sections. Students will also gain confidence in their spelling abilities, boosting both test scores and writing skills. HOW IS YOUR CLASS STRUCTURED? This is a self-paced course, which means students can access lessons and materials on their own schedule. Each week, learners will receive: ✅ Video lessons to introduce key concepts ✅ Practice activities to reinforce learning ✅ Weekly quizzes to test understanding and track progress ✅ Spelling bee challenges for active practice HOW WILL YOU TEACH? The class will be taught using a mix of video lessons, interactive quizzes, and fun, test-based challenges. Each lesson will focus on one core aspect of spelling—such as spelling rules, vocabulary, or strategies for mastering tricky words—and will include examples, explanations, and practice exercises. The students will engage in: 🎥 Video tutorials where I explain key concepts and show step-by-step examples 🎥 Quizzes and games that allow students to practice in an enjoyable way 🎥 Interactive spelling bee challenges to simulate test conditions and reinforce learning WHAT'S YOUR TEACHING STYLE? 💬 I will provide asynchronous personalized feedback on quizzes and spelling bee activities, ensuring that each student understands their strengths and areas to improve. The goal is for students to leave this course with increased spelling accuracy and a positive attitude towards writing. HOW MUCH WILL LEARNERS GET TO INTERACT WITH YOU? Students will interact with me through: 💬 Weekly video lessons where I explain spelling concepts and demonstrate how to apply them 💬 Discussion prompts encouraging learners to share their favorite tips and techniques for remembering words 💬 Weekly quizzes to test their spelling knowledge and track progress 💬 Spelling bee challenges where students can submit their spelling results for feedback 💬 Personalized feedback on quizzes and spelling games to guide learners towards mastery 🔄 As a self-paced class, learners can revisit any lesson as needed, but I’ll always be available to answer questions and provide feedback through Outschool’s messaging system.
