NOTE: This class may be listed as 1x PER WEEK or 2x PER WEEK. PLEASE CHECK your specific class details! Previous acting experience is not required, BUT the Intro to Acting for Film and Television Class is recommended for those with ZERO exposure. Learn the difference between stage and on-camera acting. Implement techniques to develop interesting characters and perform fun scenes with other students in class. Students will have time to practice with their scene partners in class, but will be encouraged to memorize scenes outside of class. Watching TV & Movies will be given as homework and students will be encouraged to find characters they want to play and cast their classmates! It is high-energy, interactive and fun. Students will be given scenes for the 1st class but encouraged to bring scenes for the 3rd class.

Students will gain confidence in their ability to express and emote. Acting helps develop good public speaking skills, develop self-awareness, encourages empathy and helps in overcoming the fear of performing. Learning & memorizing lines is a great memory exercise for the brain. In this class students will learn the difference between on-camera and stage acting. They wil be able to watch the recordings of the class and see their own performances as the speaker view cuts to each actor just as it would on tv or film.

Students will be asked to bring scenes to last 2 classes. These can be taken from TV shows or movies, written or found online. They will perform alone or cast classmates in the scenes. They will also be asked to learn their lines and memorize when possible.

2 Worksheets will be provided. Students do not need to purchase anything but the use of Google Docs or Word is a bonus.

使用する教材
Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, Nickelodeon, Cable, Youtube. Students will look for scenes from television shows or movies and cast themselves and their classmates in a scene they've always wanted to do. The sky is the limit! The most simple way to do this is to pay attention to scenes they like and a character they wish to portray. Put on the closed caption, stop-start and write or type out the scene. Scenes should be 1-3 minutes in length. We will discuss details in class.
