このクラスで学べること
In this one time acrylic painting class we will paint the night sky in the summertime over a cute little town, with both a sunset and a moonrise. We will begin by briefly discussing the properties of acrylic paint, and then follow along with me, as I show you how to create the painting with detailed, step by step instructions. I will be painting alongside you, so that you can see exactly what to do! We are going to do some splattering to create the stars, please make sure that you have a covered space where you can splatter paint. A large part of teaching painting, for me, is making sure the process is just as enjoyable as the result. Join in for a fun and relaxed way to make art. Just a few more things to note: This class is two hours long. We will be painting the entire time. The first 10 to 15 minutes we will cover the basics. Then we will proceed to make the painting. I will be painting, and demonstrating the process, and the learners will follow along with me. If a learner is not ready with their painting in an hour and a half, I am usually happy to stay an extra few minutes to help them finish up. It is important that we all start at the same time. If you know you might be 10 or more minutes delayed, please let me know, and we will work something out. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
学習到達目標

受講に必要なもの
Supplies needed for the class: #1. Paint: Acrylic paint in a variety of colors. You can purchase acrylic craft paint from your local craft store, such as Plaid or Americana. For a more expensive option, there is Liquitex or Windsor Newton. You should have the following colors: black, blue, white, purple, pink, yellow, orange. Other colors are optional. #2. Paintbrushes: You will need a few different brushes. A large flat brush for large areas, such as backgrounds. A few smaller flat brushes (we use those for the majority of the painting). A medium and a small round tip brush for the final details. For most of my paintings I find that these brushes are enough: an approximate inch flat brush, a 1/3 inch flat brush, a small round brush. (More brush options: # 12 Flat, # 8 Flat, # 12 Round, # 8 Round, # 2 Round, and a flat brush that measures anywhere between 2 to 4 inches wide.) #3. Canvas: Canvas board or stretch canvas work well. Sizes between 9 by 12 inches, and 16 by 20 inches will work well. #4. Palette: No need to buy a fancy pallet. A paper plate, or a recycled plastic container will work well. #5. Cup with water to wash brushes in, an old towel, or paper towels to wipe the brush with. Don't forget to wear appropriate clothing for painting and have a space where you can splatter paint.

Hi, my name is Mariya, and to put it simply, I love art. I love to make art, and to share my passion with others. I love sharing my skills with my students. My favorite part is seeing them embrace and enjoy the process of art making, making connections between the art and their daily lives.
I have been teaching art classes privately in NJ. I have taught homeschooling art classes, adult art classes, as well as private instruction.
I grew up in an art school. Quite literally! My family's flat was in the same building that housed the city art school. Unavoidably, the love for art seeped in. I have been drawing, painting, photographing, and creating, for as long as I can remember. For me, creativity is a source of peace, relaxation, and a form of meditation.
After graduating from Rutgers University, I have been teaching multimedia art. Up to this day I have not met a medium that I did not like. I always enjoy exploring a variety of mediums and concepts with my students, all whilst sharing my love for the process of art making. I currently teach art to the homeschool community, teens, and to seniors.
I have worked as a freelance illustrator and illustrated children’s books. I have also participated in public art exhibits and local shows. I continually pursue photography, drawing, and painting, always striving to be better than I was yesterday. I also volunteer on the board of a local non profit art association, Westfield Art Association, where our goal is to bring art education and opportunities in art to the community.
I am also a mom, and homeschooled my kids.
Currently, I reside in the state of NJ, with 3 dogs, 2 cats, a few children, husband and grandparents. Life should be fun and happy.
