In this class, students will complete a series of "classes" in our magical academy. Each week, students will interact through our outschool classroom and using NearPod games and activities. Introduction and activity demonstration videos will be posted each week. Students will then participate in discussion board posts, responding to questions posted by the teacher, and have weekly activities to complete. Every week, students will participate in games and activities using NearPod to encourage communication and to help build relationships. Week 1: Welcome to the Academy! *Wand making! Video - An instructional video with the steps for the activity will be provided. There will also be additional optional activities, should students want to dive deeper into the topic. Students will be able to post questions about the topic in the class discussion. Interaction - Students will play games to get to know each other and discover what type of Witch or Wizard they are. Week 2: Magical Creature Care *Dragon Eggs! Video - An instructional video with the steps for the activity will be provided. There will also additional activities provided, should students want to dive deeper into the topic. Students will be able to post questions about the topic in the class discussion. Interaction - Students will play games and participate in discussions to discover more about Magical Creatures. Week 3: Potions and Charms *Potions Sensory Bottle and Unbreakable Bubbles Video - An instructional video on the steps for the activity will be provided for students to watch. There will also be additional activities provided, should students want to dive deeper into the topic. Students will be able to post questions about the topic in the class discussion. Interaction - Students will play games and participate in discussions for both Potions and Charms classes. Week 4: Herbology and Dark Arts Defense *Seed sprouting and Patronus designing Video - An instructional video on the steps for the activity will be provided for students to watch. There will also be additional activities provided, should students want to dive deeper into the topic. Students will be able to post questions about the topic in the class discussion. Interaction: Students will play games and discuss class topics together to better understand this week's classes Each week all videos, activities, and discussion topics will be posted in our Outschool classroom.

Materials needed to complete each activity will be posted the week prior in the classroom. They are simple and often found around the home. Basic art supplies like paper, glue, and markers will also be used. Supplies include: salt food coloring liquid glue (clear or white) dish soap egg shell

Hello,
I'm Ms. Kailyn and I am excited to be offering unique learning opportunities for your children. I have a wide variety of teaching experience from preschool through High School Special Education. My classes focus on making learning fun and discovering nature through observation, and exploration. As a former Montessori toddler teacher, with a degree in Environmental Education, I am uniquely qualified to offer classes that both encourage children to be engaged, life-long learners as well as, patient and respectful stewards of the Earth.
When I'm not teaching, I'm often found hiking and playing with my two children and our dog. They are a big help when it comes to trying out new activities and experiments with me!レビュー
