Something to dance with: a flowy scarf, a light stuffed animal, anything soft and light

Movement will range from light to medium. For example, students may do static stretches and some freestyle dancing. Although it is preferable for students to have a wide open space, they need at least enough space to stand and swing their arms without hitting anything. If necessary, movements can also be adapted to sitting or removed completely. Learners will receive little guidance about some of their movement, so parents are encouraged to directly supervise children who may struggle to control their bodies. 

Although there are undoubtedly aspects of Drag Culture that are not appropriate for children, those aspects (i.e. lewd jokes, revealing clothing, etc.) will obviously not appear in this class. I have been working with children in various capacities for almost a decade and am very used to keeping things age appropriate. Additionally, I will not feature discussions about Queer Culture, but I will give short and appropriate answers to questions, and I will introduce what a Drag Queen is at the beginning of class!
