Learners will explore writing through reading. 
Learners will practice writing through weekly prompts.
Learners will build a writing habit to become better writers.
Learners will explore their own writing style and learn what works best for them.

I have a BA in Creative Writing. I have taken and continue to take writing classes to improve my writing expertise. I have written extensively in my life. I love to write and want to share that love of writing with students. There was a time in my life when teachers told me I couldn't write because my writing didn't fit into the "box" they believed Writing was. I have since learned that all authors have their own writing style, technique, and process and that the process that works best for you, the author, is the best process. I want to share this understanding with students and help them discover their own process.

- Reading Assignments for each week (either in page numbers or chapters depending on the book)
- Writing prompt assignments - learners will receive a list of prompts to choose from, learners are encouraged to write for at least 30 minutes a day on a prompt of their choosing. Learners may write on their own ideas/prompts if they prefer instead of teacher provided prompts. Learners will turn in writing to teacher in order to receive feedback. 
- At the end of each book a final reflection may be completed and turned in to teacher for those who wish to receive a "Certificate of Completion" for the Book.
