In this class the students will be using place value to round decimal numbers to any place. This lesson will begin with a review of whole number place using a place value chart. Next, using Google slides I will demonstrate and teach the decimal place value chart. We will discuss and identify the terms tenths, hundredths, and thousandths. I will then use the I do, we do, you do strategy to demonstrate to the students how to round decimals to the tenths, hundredths, and thousandths place. Students will be given an opportunity to complete examples on the Zoom whiteboard to show understanding of the skill. Students will interact with me using Google slides and Zoom whiteboard.

During class the students will:
1. Write the value of the underlined digit.
2. Round each number of the underlined digit.
3. Name the place value to which each number was rounded.
4. Round each number, then add or subtract.
