Learners will learn and improve their reading/ELA skills at a fourth and fifth grade level in reading, comprehension, grammar/language arts, phonics, vocabulary, and writing.

I have been teaching in a brick-and-mortar school for 10 years and have been working with children for 20 years.  I have taught all grades kindergarten through sixth grade.  I have a minor in kindergarten-primary education, so for learners who are struggling I can utilize the skills for those grade levels even with older learners.  I can easily differentiate to reach my students on their needs.

Learners may need to complete an activity outside of class time if we run out of time.  If you would like extra practice please let me know and I will be happy to send something.

There will be various learning methods used during our class including slides, practice pages, games, craftivities, and hands-on learning.

Learners should be working at a 5th or 6th grade level in reading comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary skills.

I will be using common core curriculum to develop engaging, grade level materials, dolch sight word lists, and various books.  Each week I will post the book we will be reading on Sunday afternoons EST if you would like for your learner to have their own copy of the book to follow along with, but this is a personal preference.  Learners are not required to have the books.
