In this on-going class we will spend 52 weeks writing poetry. Learners will have a full notebook of creative poetry by the end of the year! Students often fill stress or restriction when it comes to writing due to topic requirements, format expectations, and specific assignments given. This class is created to get rid of that stigma and spark creativity, enjoyment, and inspiration with writing. Each week we will learn different poetry writing tips, be given a poetry prompt, write, & share! Students can sign up or leave as needed. This class is built to be stress free and encourage students to get their thoughts and ideas on paper & widen their knowledge with poetry writing.

Each class will be set up going over the selected poem type (see below schedule), given multiple examples, and I will provide guidance to writing their own. This class will follow a modeled instruction of "I do, we do, you do." This class is a fun time for students to learn about different types of poetry, use their creativity, and share.

Hello!
I'm Amanda Fischer and welcome to my classroom. I am a state Certified teacher in Elementary Education K-6 and a K-12 Reading Specialist. Throughout the last ten years I have taught all levels of students ranging from elementary to college.

I hold a BA in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist. I have taught all subject areas, tutored students of multi ages, and helped high school students who read below grade level. I attend professional development classes each year to continue my education.

I absolutely love teaching and building positive relationships with my students. It is my goal to make learning engaging, positive, motivating, safe, and stress free.I strive to meet each students educational goals and needs based on their specific learning style. My area of expertise include reading, writing, goal setting, time management, and communication.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy life on the ranch with my family. I enjoy barrel racing, horseback riding, caring for my animals, and traveling. I look forward to meeting you in class.
