In this on-going class we will spend 52 weeks journaling. Learners will have a full journal of thoughts, writing ideas, and inspiration at the end of the year! Students often fill stress or restriction when it comes to writing due to topic requirements, format expectations, and specific assignments given. This class is created to get rid of that stigma and spark creativity, enjoyment, and inspiration with writing. Each week we will learn different writing/journaling tips, be given a writing prompt, write, & share! Students can sign up or leave as needed. This class is built to be stress free and encourage students to get their thoughts and ideas on paper. Class Structure: -Introductions (2 minutes) -Writing/Journaling Tip of the Day (3 minutes) -Writing Prompt Given (2 minutes) -Write & Chat (10 minutes) -Share (3 minutes) Journaling Topics: January Theme: New Year Resolutions/Goal Setting January 3-7: New Year Plans, Inspirations, Goals, Dreams, & Hopes January 10-14: What’s one goal or challenge you have for yourself this week? How will you accomplish it? January 17-21: What do you plan to do differently in the coming week, month, or year? January 24-28: What times of day are the most productive for you? What really motivates you in life? February Theme: Sparking the Imagination! January 31- February 4: Write about what your pen is today. Use your imagination- What is your pen today? February 7-11: You were granted king of the world! Write about what you would do/change if you could rule the world. February 14-18: If you could spend a day doing anything you want, what would you do and why? February 21-25: If you could make a dream island, what would it have? Why? Use your imagination! February 28-March 4: Do you have any pets? What would you say to it if, one morning, it could suddenly talk? March Theme: Descriptions! March 7-11: Look out of your window. What do you see? March 14-18: Describe your favorite place that you have been. Use details and your 5 senses to describe this place. March 21-25: What’s the best way to spend a rainy day? March 28-April 1: Pretend that you could either shrink down to the size of a mouse or grow as large as a building. What would you do and why? April Theme: Memories, "I remember"........ April 4-8: List some of your favorite memories. Why do you think memories are important. Describe in detail a favorite memory. April 11-15: Write about your favorite memory in your favorite season. Would you rather it always be summer, spring, fall, or winter? Why? April 18-22: Think of your favorite toys, make a list. Describe in detail memories that come to mind with that toy. Why was this your favorite toy? April 25-29: Write about a holiday memory. Where did you go? What did you do? What foods do you remember? May Theme: Creative Writing with picture prompt (free write). May 2-6: Free write with picture given. May 9-13: Free write with picture given. May 16-20: Free write with picture given. May 23-27: Free write with picture given. May 30-June 3: Free write with picture given. June Theme: Creative Writing with picture prompt (free write). June 6-10: Free write with picture given. June 13-17: Free write with picture given. Hello!
I'm Amanda Fischer and welcome to my classroom. I am a state Certified teacher in Elementary Education K-6 and a K-12 Reading Specialist. Throughout the last ten years I have taught all levels of students ranging from elementary to college.
I hold a BA in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist. I have taught all subject areas, tutored students of multi ages, and helped high school students who read below grade level. I attend professional development classes each year to continue my education.
I absolutely love teaching and building positive relationships with my students. It is my goal to make learning engaging, positive, motivating, safe, and stress free.I strive to meet each students educational goals and needs based on their specific learning style. My area of expertise include reading, writing, goal setting, time management, and communication.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy life on the ranch with my family. I enjoy barrel racing, horseback riding, caring for my animals, and traveling. I look forward to meeting you in class.
