このクラスは 英語で教えられます。

Students will learn the foundations of realistic drawing. They will learn how to create an accurate drawing of a bird, or any object they would like to draw, by first simplifying the subject, and then building a sketch that will serve as the map for their final drawing. They will learn how sketching this way becomes a safe place for mistakes to be made and corrected before moving on to the details of a drawing. 

Not only will students learn skills and practices to be able to draw any bird they want on their own, with the same amazing results as a follow-along with a teacher, but throughout the lessons we will also work out our artist’s attitude. We will address some of the mental blocks that can come up as we learn a new skill, and I will give the students tools to combat their doubts, fears, and frustrations to keep trying until they become the artist they want to be. 

PLEASE NOTE: This class will be engaging for bird and art lovers, and no previous skill is required. The most important requirement is that students are excited to learn and serious about improving. This is not a quick follow-along designed to produce the students with a copy of the teacher's drawing. It will be challenging at times, but I have had students from ages 5+ who thrive with this course material.

Because this class is done in an at-home setting and on your own time, there will not be homework beyond the weekly drawing and weekly classroom posts.  
 At the end of each lesson I will ask students to share their artwork and post their self-assessment of their drawings with the critique formula of: 
-Something they like about their art 
-Something they think they could improve
-Something they noticed or felt while drawing

I will also give them mental prompts from the "think like an artist section" to think about during their week between lessons. 
Answers and observations will be submitted in the classroom and students will be encouraged to respond to others. If a student feels uncomfortable submitting their drawing to the classroom to share, we can discuss sharing it privately with me. 
The only extra assignment will be at the end of the course I will ask students to film a 1-2 minute video teaching their fellow students something they have learned or discovered during the course. Teaching others helps to reinforce what they have learned.
