週あたり 1-2 時間. One homework assignment per subject, per week, will be assigned. Homework will take no more than 30 minutes per subject. Students will also work on a variety of projects both during class and outside of class. A calendar will be provided with due dates for book club reading and larger projects.

Students will be assessed through mini projects, experiments and weekly homework assignments. Students will also participate in game based assessments, Nearpods, Kahoots, Spelling Bees and reading circles.

Come join our full-curriculum learning pod for 4th grade! Learners will have the opportunity to study with the same certified teacher throughout the year, while cultivating relationships with their peers!

Classes will be held Monday-Friday each week with chances for individual help with Miss Sarah before or after each class.

Each week learners will have one homework assignment per subject. The homework will not be due until the following week. For example, math homework that is assigned Monday will be due the following Monday. Homework assignments will be due prior to class. All homework will be turned in through the classroom. Homework assignments should take no longer than 30 minutes per subject, per week. If necessary, Miss Sarah be available for homework help 30 minutes before and after each class.

Each week will include all core subject areas as well as a special area project. Included in the curriculum will be 3 sciences experiments completed throughout the 6 weeks, 2 social studies projects, and writing will be integrated into all subject areas. Learners will be able to participate in group work through the classroom and use of breakout rooms.

**Morning meeting will be held at the beginning of each class period. This will be a 15 minute period where students can share new and exciting things that have happened, play an educational game, and catch up with their classmates!**

**Breakout rooms will be utilized in each class period. Students will learn a new skill, receive instruction, and then complete an activity in small groups. Breakout rooms will be monitored by Miss Sarah. She will switch back and forth between rooms and will also be available in the main session for 1-on-1 help. Students will always be encouraged to request Miss Sarah come into their breakout room, and we can work through problems and solutions together.

Monday:
- Homeroom: Students will share what they did over the weekend and respond to a short writing prompt. New goals will be introduced for the week.
- Math Lesson (new topic)
- Math assignment and group work

Tuesday:
- Spelling and Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Reading/Writing

Wednesday:
- Social Studies Reading and Lesson
- Special Area project

Thursday:
- Science Lesson (new topic)
- Conceptual understanding questions, visuals and examples
- Experiment preparation and analysis

Friday:
- Math Mini Lesson (continued topic from Monday)
- Math practice and game
- Weekly Wrap-up: Students will review what goals we completed this week and discuss where we may need to add more practice. If necessary, optional weekend practice will be provided.

Math: Adding and Subtracting Fractions with Common/Uncommon Denominators
Language Arts: Similes and Metaphors
Science: The Sun and Water Cycle
Social Studies: People, Culture and Challenges Pre-Civil War

Week 4:
Math: Adding and Subtracting with Mixed Numbers
Language Arts: Allusions and Idioms
Science: The Sun and Water Cycle
Social Studies: People, Culture and Challenges Post-Civil War

Week 5:
Math: Measuring Angles and Lines
Language Arts: Advertising Pre-Write
Science: Patterns and Models of the sun, Earth and moon
Social Studies: People, Culture and Challenges Post-Civil War

Week 6:
Math: Angles Mini Project
Language Arts: Advertising Peer Review
Science: Patterns and Models of the sun, Earth and moon

All materials will be supplied through the class the Saturday before at noon EST. All assignments will be turned in through the classroom and will receive individual feedback. Students will also share work with other classmates to facilitate peer review skills.

Miss Sarah studied world views as well as music and politics to gain knowledge of different cultures, their values and their history.
Miss Sarah is a special education teacher certified to differentiate assignments based on student abilities. Additionally, Miss Sarah is certified in curriculum development and design for both general and special education.
In brick and mortar schools, Miss Sarah taught history of Ancient European and African cultures, traditions and music. Additionally, Miss Sarah taught a unit study on slavery, abolitionists, the Civil War and the Underground Railroad.
