週あたり 1-2 時間. Each lesson contains a homework assignment. Students will be assigned 4-5 lessons worth of homework at the end of class. Students should grade their own work when answer sheets are provided. If students write directly in their consumable workbooks, they will be able to complete their work faster. Students will have writing assignments after every ten lessons which should take about 15-20 minutes outside of class. After every ten lessons, students will have a kahoot test, which should take about ten minutes.テスト
***I do not give a grade for this course.*** Writing- Students are invited to submit writing assignments to the teacher for feedback. The app “tiny scanner” is a free phone app that quickly creates PDF’s for submission. Grammar- Do not turn in the review sets or practice sets; These will not be graded . The answer key is in the teacher guide for students or guardians to check their own work. Grammar assignments are assessed using Kahoot tests and paper tests.評価

PREREQUISITE🧠: English Grammar and Writing Semester 1 or previous English grammar instruction. Many concepts in the second semester build on the first. Semester 1 students have learned to diagram the simple subject, verb, direct object, indirect object, predicate complements, prepositional phrases, adjectives. See the FAQ below to see if your learner would be a good fit for semester 2. OVERVIEW🐦: In this 15-week second semester class, students will exceed state standards as they work through the second half of the comprehensive 3rd grade grammar and writing program. Not only will students gain competency in English Grammar, but they will also have a blast doing it. This class is excellent for both native and non-native speakers. The content includes various history and science themes. This class is designed to support parents and students by introducing the material for the week and setting a pace for completing the course. If students need more support, I will have tutoring hours available each week. Learners MUST purchase the books for this course(see links below). The first ten lessons will be provided electronically so that we can get started with learning as some learners wait for their textbooks to arrive. CLASS STRUCTURE👩🏫👩💻: With the wonderful routine, learners will know what to expect for each class. Learners should be in the waiting room at least one minute before class begins. Class will begin promptly with a “Grammar Meeting.” The teacher will pose a question for class discussion along with some instruction in vocabulary. Then, through lecture and interactive presentation slides, the teacher will walk students through the new lesson material. To ensure that they are grasping the new concepts, students will be prompted to participate during instruction and answer questions. During and after instruction, students are encouraged to ask questions. The teacher will break up the lessons with grammar humor, I Spy, Would You Rather?, Read My Lips, and other engaging activities. Each class will cover approximately four grammar lessons and one writing lesson for one week's worth of instruction. Last, the teacher will give a daily breakdown for homework assignments. There are five Kahoot tests which will be assigned throughout the semester. After class, students will complete the coursework for the lessons covered during class. A recommended daily homework breakdown will be provided. Students can go back and re-watch the lessons throughout the week as needed. They are welcome to message the teacher throughout the week with any questions on assignments. The answer key is in the teacher guide for students or guardians to check their own work. TYPICAL WEEKLY STRUCTURE📚: Day 1- Class with Teacher Stephanie (all lessons taught for the week) Day 2- Writing assignment Day 3- Grammar assignment Day 4- Grammar assignment Day 5- Grammar assignment, Kahoot Test ABOUT THE CURRICULUM📘: English Grammar: This rigorous program focuses on English grammar, writing, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary. Because this is an introductory course, students are not expected to know all the concepts ahead of time. By the end of this course, students should have an excellent grasp on these concepts and be well equipped for middle school grammar. Learners will get opportunities to review through the spiraling incremental lessons. This curriculum is designed for 3rd grade, but an advanced 2nd grader or even new to English Grammar 4th grader would do well in this class. After every five lessons, students will have a grammar test, which should take about 10 minutes ( I plan to get this to students using Kahoot). Writing: Learners will also be given a great foundation for writing style and structure. They will be taught how to produce strong interesting sentences. Learners will learn to construct sentences and paragraphs and also implement the different purposes for writing (narrative, descriptive, expository, and persuasive). We will conclude writing instruction by writing a summary for a chapter of a book. Students will have writing lessons in class after every 5 lessons. Each of the 10 writing assignments should take about 15 minutes outside of class. This level does not include journal topics or dictations. TECHNOLOGY🎧: To avoid technology complications during class, I strongly recommend learners invest in a good headset. I use the Logitech H390 which can be found on Amazon. Also make sure you have a strong internet connection. Also, we often use Zoom's annotate (draw on screen) feature during class. Please note that Chromebooks DO NOT support this feature. DISCOUNTS💰: ***Get a $25 discount on the enrollment of a second learner for any grammar course.*** One discount per family RESCHEDULING POLICY ⌛ If a meeting must be cancelled due to teacher illness or outage, it will either be rescheduled for a later date or sent out as recorded lessons at the teacher's discretion. Recorded, makeup lessons will occur no more than twice in a semester. After this the semester will be extended to make up for the meetings.
