This class is for students at the introductory level. Students will learn different stages of solving the cube. Students will develop note-taking skills to help remember the algorithms, get to know the parts of the Rubik's cube, and how the cube moves. This course will start with a weekly teacher-led instructions followed by a questions and answers session. The class will cover the importance of color, faces, how to hold the Rubik's cube, and the necessary moves to move your student towards solving the cube. The lessons use appropriate math vocabulary and cover fundamental areas such as math, geometry, area, volume, fractions, decimals, and algebra (what a fun way to learn!) Each lesson will meet the goals of the 21st Century Skills (Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking). The learners participate in show-n-tell and engage with other students to respond to questions regarding their creative process. The cube is a great manipulative and helps to build hand-eye coordination as well as stimulate the brain. Learners do not require any pre-existing cube knowledge, they must own a cube. This course is not for competitors or speed-cuber's. Fun Fact: 2020 is the 40th Anniversary for the Rubik's US debut!

Any 3x3 Cube (new or gently used) - standard pricing is usually under $12. MoYu RS3M 2020 is a great Cube!!! $9 - $12 *NO Carbon Fiber Cubes (Black with color on trim) - They are very challenging to see online and the colors blend. Paper and writing tool (color printer to print out practice sheets if desired)
