このクラスで学べること

米国の学年 3 - 6
Beginner レベル向け
3 lessons//1 Week
 Week 1
Lesson 1
Tools, Surfaces & Medium Properties
Students will experiment with their respective mediums to see how they behave with several basic painting techniques, including dry brush, loaded brush, wet on wet, blending, etc. They will do several swatch exercises in each of the techniques and then proceed to paint fruits using their chosen mediums.
Lesson 2
Color Theory & Harmony
Students will be introduced to the basics of color theory by identifying primary, secondary, tertiary, warm and cool colors. Students will paint three mini landscapes, using each of the terms or color harmonies described throughout the lesson. The focus is to recognize all important color theory terms and understand the value of picking the best possible palette to represent their artwork.
Lesson 3
Value & Composition (Space & Perspective)
Students will integrate their knowledge about the tools and medium characteristics, the respective techniques to use for any given situation and color theory in a final project. The focus is to get students to understand how value (light interaction) can affect colors and how utilizing color palette in harmony with value can create not only depth but also aesthetic appeal (i.e. how to avoid making shadows muddy while achieving the value dark enough).
Teacher Allie May is a contemporary artist who loves to indulge in all mediums, but focuses most on drawing and painting. She is a graduate student in the BFA program at California State University Long Beach, and aims to pursue a career in teaching art. Her art influence began at a young age, but she considers herself “self-taught.” Allie is passionate about encouraging students to master the fundamental skills and technical aspects of creating, but also develop a style that is unique to each student. Her promise is to encourage a mindset where students are confident in themselves and their ability to create.

Teacher Brittany is a professional artist and illustrator. She holds a BA in Arts with a concentration on Visual Technology. She also gained valuable industry experience as Technology Lead and Animation Instructor at art schools. She has worked as a freelance concept artist and illustrator in game design. She utilizes a background in comics, storyboarding and animation to bring creative concepts to life. With a strong background in traditional and digital painting, Brittany is currently teaching a wide variety of classes in various mediums to merge her love for illustration, painting and game development.
