This will be an ongoing full curriculum 2nd-grade pod that includes English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. I will utilize Nearpod nearly every class. Nearpod is an excellent resource that will allow for lessons with interactive slides, videos, games, and more. For ELA and Math, I teach using the I do, we do, you do method. I will teach the mini-lesson, show examples, and allow students to practice individually. We will also utilize the whiteboard. Activities/worksheets will also be assigned as practice between classes. For science, there will be mini-lessons, occasional hands-on activities, and science journals. Social Studies will have a combination of interactive lessons, worksheets, and hands-on activities. After enrollment each learner will have access to Lalilo and Zearn. Lalilo is a program to practice reading fluency and comprehension. Zearn is a program to practice math topics and fact fluency. Your learner will receive a login for both via Outschool messaging. 👉🏻 Homework is optional but is highly recommended. I will grade and give feedback if requested. Please let me know after enrolling if you would like to take advantage of that. ——Class Breakdown—— Mon/Wed - ELA/Math 1. “Morning” work 2. Math mini-lesson/I work examples 3. We work on examples 4. Hello! My name is Rachael, and I’m a homeschooling mom of 7 kids! I have nine years of experience teaching children ages 4-16 in all subjects, including full preschool curriculum, math, science, language arts, reading, spelling, and social studies! My favorite subjects to teach are elementary science and math! Learning should always be fun and engaging. I try to make every class I teach as exciting as possible! I believe in allowing the child to lead the lesson and following at their pace.
