Does your student like to learn through play and movement? By the end of 2nd grade, students are expected to be able to identify several 2D shapes including triangles, squares, quadrilaterals, rhombuses, rectangles, pentagons, hexagons, and more! Additionally, students need to be able to identify attributes of each shape including how many sides and vertices they have. My teaching style draws from the brain's natural ability to learn through play. When a skill or concept is taught and practiced through play, the brain can retain the information in as little as four repetitions. 

In this one-time class, we will learn as we play and practice identifying 2D shapes and their attributes. Your student will learn the following skills:
-Identify a circle, triangle, square, rectangle, rhombus, quadrilateral, trapezoid, pentagon, hexagon, heptagon, and octagon.
-Identify the number of sides each shape has.
-Identify the number of vertices (corners/points) each shape has.

These skills will be practiced through several high-speed, engaging class games like:
-Fast Facts (A high-speed game where students show their answer through different moves, exercises, and dances!)
-Wheel of Geometry (Think Wheel of Fortune, but geometry-style!)
-BINGO! (A classic and well-loved game - students will race to beat each other as they identify all shapes with mystery clues!)

This class is ideal for 2nd-4th graders, depending on skill and ability level. It could be an introduction, refresher, or supplemental class. I hope to see your student soon. Please message me with any questions or concerns.
