In this one-time class, students will be learning how to build a 2D version of Hellokitty in Minecraft.  I will be creating Hellokitty in 2D.  This allows the students to make it as I do, standing up, or they could build it flat on the ground.  It is entirely up to them!  As long as they follow along with the pattern for making the character, they'll easily copy/mimic it on the ground.

They could build during class or after.  I have made a video of me making Hellokitty and will be showing that during class.  This allows me to pause the video whenever the students are confused or have a question.  If the students do not build it during class, that is more than acceptable.  They can always watch the recording of the class later to make it on their own time.  Included within the class is a template that I made of building Hellokitty (that I will post).  They can follow that template while watching the recording or even during class.

If you are doing this in survival mode (now or later), you will need:

Black Wool - 152 blocks
White Wool - 131 blocks
Pink Concrete - 52 blocks
Pink Wool - 27 blocks
Yellow - 1 block

My name is Cassie.  I host a variety of Minecraft classes.

A bit about myself: I have a bachelor's degree in English and Literature (May, 2023).  I also have a 150-hour TEFL/TESOL certificate.  I have the most experience teaching children, 4 to 11 years old, how to draw, play Minecraft, and learn American Sign Language (ASL).  

I love Minecraft.  I started playing Minecraft since I was a child.  It has been a part of my life for roughly 10 years now.  I think Minecraft is a wonderful addition to life as you get to relax, but also challenge yourself if you'd like.  It's a wonderful game to develop skills such as patience, survival instincts, teamwork, and creativity.

Interesting facts about me: I'm 21 years old.  I'm the eldest of two siblings of which one of them, and my mother, work on this platform.  I have a cat named Leo who is a rescue cat with Feline leukemia (FeLV).  I was homeschooled from 12-15 years old (at least 5 years before the pandemic happened).  I started college at 16.  My interests (for careers) consist of piloting (only 15/16 flight hours so far - currently not flying), cybersecurity, and UX Design.
