First grade Science is very interesting and fun for students! This semester class will include a mixture of S.T.E.M., Life Science, Earth Science, and Physical Science. - Discuss the Table of Contents.
- Learning with our senses
- *Activity - Tasting: sweet, sour, salty (Students will be supplied with a handout to print. Please bring something sweet, sour, and salty to class.)
- Science tools we can use for measuring: ruler, tape measure, balance, measuring cup, thermometer (Please bring any of these that you have at home.)

Class 2 - Natural vs. Human-Made materials
- Show students the "Blue Jeans Map" on pages 30-31 in Blue Jeans Before the Store, By: Jody Jensen 
- *Activity - Make a Materials Chart: toy dinosaur, scissors, socks
- Learn about Dr. Eugene Tssui: architect on pages 75-76
Students may use coins, blocks, or playdough to build a building inspired by the book Wacky World of: Baffling Buildings!, by: Hermione Redshaw. The teacher will screen-share the book from Epic.
