This ongoing class will be designed to reinforce literacy skills students learn in 1st grade. We will focus on skills such as reading sight words, manipulating sounds to come up with rhyming words, and reading simple sentences. The exact format of the class may vary from week to week. A common game we will play will be "sentence detectives". During the game, students will look at sentences with me and help me find errors to be corrected. We will also often have a writing prompt where students will be encouraged to write a sentence and draw a picture. Students may hold their writing up to the camera for feedback. I would also love to see a picture of the writing which can be uploaded to the classroom for more detailed feedback.
