Topics taught and covered: counting 1-25, first grade sight words from Dolch sight word list (you can find this full list on our class page), letter names and sounds, days of week, months of year, making a ten, songs, a read aloud at the end of class. I am a former first grade teacher of 3 years. I have worked with young children for years prior to that. I love circle time and it was always one of my favorite parts of the day in the first grade classroom! During circle time, students practice a variety of skills in a fun way.
Something to write with and on is helpful for some days of class when we practice writing sight words or work out math problems.
