Beginner レベル向け
This course is scheduled in flex time for your convenience. Flex class means there will be no live meetings. The work is asynchronous and all activities will take place in the classroom portal, not in zoom. The course is great for busy families. The student may access the materials at any time during the course. The teacher will answer emails within 24 hours. Each week the teacher will post a class session video of him performing 4 or more magic tricks. Students will be able to watch the trick and follow along, pause the video to watch step by, and practice the trick at times throughout the video. The teacher will post some other links (when applicable), close up pictures, tips, extra practice suggestions, etc. After watching the videos for class, the students will participate by doing activities for the week. Students have the option to submit videos or recordings of practicing each trick for teacher's help and answering discussion questions in the classroom. This is available, but not required. The teacher will provide feedback to the students individually and as a whole class. Time Frame for the Week: Mondays - Teacher will post the information needed for the week. Tuesdays-Wednesday - The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week. The students will need to complete any practice activities and answer any questions in the discussion. Thursday - Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom (optional). Friday - The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students. Saturday - Sunday - Teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week. Students will learn the 2 main rules of magic and the art of storytelling for each trick. Students will watch a video and listen to the teacher share how to set up and perform each trick. The teacher will go step by step to show students how to perform each trick. Students will be instructed to practice each trick and stop the video if needed, to watch again until they are comfortable performing each trick in front of someone. The tricks for week 1 are: the Magic paperclips with Rubber Band, Wizard Spoon, Jumping Rubber Band bonus, and the Magic Spices Trick. Students will be asked to submit recordings or videos of them performing each trick. Students will upload the recordings to the classroom. Students will be asked to type into the discussion thread to answer questions such as, "What was your favorite magic trick from this class? What kind of story will you tell to catch the audience's attention when you are performing a trick?" For Class 2 Make Your Tricks: The teacher will review the 2 main rules of magic and the art of storytelling for each trick as well as explain how a student can develop their own style of magic trick delivery. Students will watch a video and listen to the teacher share how to make, set up and perform each trick. The teacher will go step by step to show students how to perform each trick. Students will be instructed to practice each trick and stop the video if needed, to watch again until they are comfortable performing each trick in front of someone. The tricks for week 2 are: The Disappearing Crayons, Magic Balloons, and the Spook Writing. Students will be asked to submit recordings or videos of them performing each trick. Students will upload the recordings to the classroom. Students will be asked to type into the discussion thread to answer questions such as, "How can you make this trick your trick (make it believable and fit your personality)?" Class 3 Cards and Coins- Students will watch a video and listen to the teacher share how to set up and perform each trick. The teacher will go step by step to show students how to perform each trick. Students will be instructed to practice each trick and stop the video if needed, to watch again until they are comfortable performing each trick in front of someone. The tricks for week 3 are: 6 Quarter Trick, Rub a Quarter, Force a Card, and Middle Card Prediction. Students will be asked to submit recordings or videos of them performing each trick. Students will upload the recordings to the classroom. Students will be asked to type into the discussion thread to answer questions such as, "Who did you practice your new tricks on last week? How did it go?" Class 4 Tricks, Organize, and Perform- Students will watch a video and listen to the teacher share how to set up and perform each trick. The teacher will go step by step to show students how to perform each trick. Students will be instructed to practice each trick and stop the video if needed, to watch again until they are comfortable performing each trick in front of someone. The tricks for week 4 are: 5 Card Prediction, Magic Splinter, and Popsicle Stick. The teacher will also demonstrate how to organize their tricks and put on their own show. Students will be asked to submit recordings or videos of them performing each trick. Students will upload the recordings to the classroom. Students will be asked to type into the discussion thread to answer questions such as, "What was your most successful magic trick so far? What did you learn about performing magic tricks?"

Students will learn magic to connect with people, be creative with their mind, and spend less time in front of a screen. Magic is also a great confidence builder and a great connector for introverts. Students gain speech and presentation skills.

I ask that any of the tricks that are being made are done with the help of parents. A few involve cutting and I tell the child in the video to get parents help.

Materials List: 1- dollar bill 2-paperclips 1- nickle 6- quarters 1- tape 1-box crayons 8 pack 3- rubberbands 1- metal spoon 2- ballons 1-markers 1- handkerchief 5-business cards or card stock cut that size 1-deck of any type cards UNO, GO Fish, or Playing 1-plastic salt shakers or small spice. Anything shaped like that.

I love to teach my students they can do magic and still be themselves; make it their own.
