Students will gain a greater understanding of the writing or grammar topic that has been decided upon with the parents prior to the tutoring session.  They will gain the skill to work through exercises related to the topic and apply that knowledge in writing and reading situations when applicable. 

I have over 20 years of combined experience teaching in both a physical and online classroom setting. My teaching experience ranges from elementary school - college/adult learners.  I have also tutored in writing.  I have both a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in English.  Additionally, I am also a homeschool mother who has found various successful methods of teaching these topics to my children of various learning styles and abilities.

Students may receive practice homework after each tutoring session if they do not bring homework assignments to work on during the tutoring session. When tutoring plan is created for the student, there will be a brief homework practice after each session.

I will provide updates to parents after each session regarding student progress or with recommendations for future tutoring sessions.  Students will also be assessed based on the homework assigned after each personalized session.  I can also provide essay feedback as needed.

We may refer to popular books for examples of writing and/or grammar concepts.  Outside sources will be listed and referenced in the classroom.
